A final, participatory workshop focusing on the technical, legal and ethical aspects of farm animal cloning
The primary goals of the conference were to:
1: Obtain feedback and input to the recommendations of the project on possible European regulation and guidelines
2: Create a dialogue to explore key issues and to identify the main hopes and concerns that farm animal cloning raises
There was a series of short presentations that focus on specific questions related to farm animal cloning that have been highlighted during the project. Following these talks each session included invited comments from other perspectives to open the dialogue. Finally there was amble time for discussion among all participants.
One of the points of the conference was to create a dialogue between citizens. But citizens is not a special group. Citizens in this context simply means humans who have a responsibility to participate in the discussion about farm animal cloning. Nevertheless the group of people in Brussels obviously also came from different backgrounds.
